Senior Copywriter

Job Description

Our fast-growing communications firm is looking for an ambitious Copy Supervisor to help pioneer our creative division. This writer will help lead and support creative content creation and execution for our healthcare clients. As a Copy Supervisor you will report directly to the Copy Director and will be the second official addition to this emerging creative copy team. In this role, you will help support the creative copy needs of 50+ biotech clients within a fast-paced, thriving environment. This candidate must be a self- starter who is able to work both independently and with a team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to grow with the department. You will be working on website writing, branding strategy, presentations content and other marketing materials. This is a scientific, healthcare focused field.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • BFA English-related degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience as a copywriter within the healthcare field (or related industry)
  • Experience and/or strong interest in healthcare or high science
  • Product communications and promotional writing experience highly desired
  • Strong writing skills with impeccable attention to detail and organization
  • Strong conceptual abilities and a solid knowledge of the digital landscape
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Desire to work collaboratively as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office—especially PowerPoint and Word
  • An eagerness to continue growing your creative storytelling
  • Comfort in a deadline-driven environment, with a strong ability to develop and deliver work in a timely manner and to handle multiple projects at a time
  • A high level of productivity and proactiveness, especially when developing new ideas
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to explain your creative vision/process in relation to the project goals to cross-functional partners and clients
  • Comfort taking direction, receiving feedback and navigating multiple points of view
  • An interest in being an avid collaborator
  • Fast learner and an independent self/starter

Job Functions

  • Work with the Copy Director to support all creative initiatives
  • Work with developers and designers to collaborate on creating corporate landing pages/websites and other marketing materials
  • Help develop strategic copy for corporate and brand messaging and positioning
  • Help to write marketing materials across 40+ brands
  • Write within brand editorial-guidelines (when applicable)
  • Work with scientists to distil complex scientific platforms into approachable copy
  • Gather references, annotations and prep files for fact check (when applicable)
  • Give constructive feedback to fellow creatives
  • Collaborate with account teams/creatives to develop creative solutions for clients
  • Write corporate presentations and other marketing materials
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new creative initiatives
  • Write projects from concept through to completion
  • Present work to clients

Bonus skills

  • Healthcare, product and promotional copy experience a major plus
  • Scientific background a plus
  • Digital copy
